Kushies Baby strives to meet the needs of its employees and customers with disabilities and is working hard to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility.
Our organization/business is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. This accessibility plan outlines the steps Kushies Baby is taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.

Kushies Baby has remained in compliance with the Customer Service Standard and is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities.
Our accessible customer service policies are consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities.
People with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices when accessing our goods, services or facilities.
In cases where the assistive device presents a significant and unavoidable health or safety concern or may not be permitted for other reasons, other measures will be used to ensure the person with a disability can access our goods, services or facilities.

Kushies Baby is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities. We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability.

Section Two: Strategies and Actions
Kushies Baby is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods and services to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.
Information and Communications
Kushies Baby is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities. We will work with the person with a disability to determine what method of communication works for them.
Kushies Babywill tell its employees about its policies to support people with disabilities. New employees, when they are hired, will be trained and Kushies Baby will tell all its employees if there are changes to the policies.
Kushies will get this information out through memos, emails, staff meetings or bulletin boards.
Kushies will provide accessible customer service training to:
- all employees and volunteers
- anyone involved in developing our policies
- anyone who provides goods, services or facilities to customers on our behalf.
Staff will be trained on accessible customer service within 2 months after being hired.
Training will include:
- purpose of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standard
- Kushies’s policies related to the customer service standard
- how to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities
- how to interact with people with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person.
Staff will also be trained when changes are made to our accessible customer service policies.
Kushies welcomes feedback on how we provide accessible customer service. Customer feedback will help us identify barriers and respond to concerns.

All feedback, including complaints, will be handled in the following manner:
Feedback will be directed to the General Manager and customers can expect to hear back in no more than 3 days.
Kushies will make sure our feedback process is accessible to people with disabilities by providing or arranging for accessible formats and communication supports, on request.
Kushies Baby welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
During the hiring process, accommodation will be provided to job applicants.
If an applicant or successful candidate requests an accommodation, Kushies will discuss their needs with them and make adjustments to support them.
